All the Fire, None of the Firewood
Most Dallas families light the fireplace a few evenings a year. For those evenings, hauling wood, building a fire and sweeping out ash can feel like more work than it is worth.
Gas logs change that. You press a button and you have a fire. Press it again and it is out. No smoke in the room, no ash on the hearth, no half-burned log to worry about at bedtime.
Dallas Chimney Care installs gas logs in Dallas, TX. We make sure the fireplace is safe for them, help you choose a set that fits, and set every log the way the maker intended.
Vented or Vent-Free: Which Gas Logs Are Right for You?
Vented gas logs
- Tall, yellow flames that look like a wood fire
- Used with the damper open
- Best if you want the look more than the heat
Vent-free gas logs
- Lower flame, more heat into the room
- Burn with the damper closed
- Come with rules on room size and fresh air, which we go over with you
We look at your fireplace and how you plan to use it, then tell you plainly which type makes sense.
What to Decide Before Installation
- Size. The log set has to fit the firebox with space around it. We measure the front width, back width, depth and height.
- Style. Oak, birch, driftwood and other looks, with glowing embers under the logs.
- Controls. A match-light valve, a wall switch or a remote control.
- Gas type. Natural gas is the norm in Dallas. Tell us if your home uses propane.
How Gas Log Installation Works
- We inspect the fireplace. Firebox, damper, flue and the gas supply at the fireplace.
- We sweep the flue if it needs it. Old creosote should not sit above a new burner. See our chimney sweep service.
- You choose the logs. We help with size, style and controls, and give you a written price.
- We install the burner and logs. Each log goes where the maker’s layout says, so the flame burns clean.
- We test it. Flame, controls and safety shut-off are checked, and we show you how to use it.
Keep Gas Logs Burning Clean
Logs that get bumped out of place make soot. So do clogged burner ports. A yearly service keeps the flame even and the glass and logs clean. The U.S. Fire Administration also recommends a carbon monoxide alarm in any home with fuel-burning appliances.

Why Professional Installation Matters
A gas log set is a gas appliance, and the way it is installed decides how safely it burns. An experienced installer checks the existing fireplace first: the firebox, the damper and the flue. That inspection is part of every job we do. If you are converting a wood fireplace, the flue should be swept before new gas logs go in.
For a homeowner, gas logs are the simplest upgrade there is. You keep the fireplace you have and gain a fire you can light in seconds. The glow changes the feel of the whole living space, with none of the work of a wood stove or an open fire.
If you want to change the look of the fireplace as well, we can install gas logs as part of a remodel. See fireplace remodeling.
